2018 Winter Solstice
Today marks the 2018 Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year and marks the beginning of the winter season. This Winter Solstice will be extra special due to a full moon and the Ursid Meteor showers. The Solstice has been marked and celebrated through the years by many different cultures.
To many, the shortest day of the year, marks the end of one year and the beginning of the next. It is a great time to reflect on the past year and set some intentions for the new year. As the sun stays longer each day, we have time to work on our intentions for the year. It is a time for rebirth.
Many yoga studios have special winter solstice classes, which is what got us thinking about this. There are many ways to celebrate this day. For me, it is a time of reflection and contemplation. This past year has been wonderful with our corporate and private clients, and our SUP Season was amazing. We thank you all for joining us and making it possible for us to share our love for yoga and the outdoors.
One intention we have as a company for next year is to find more opportunities and ways to teach yoga in nature. For me, practicing outdoors brings a special sense of peace. If you would like to join us in some outdoor activity in the coming year check out the SUP schedule - coming in the spring, join us for an R&R Retreat or become a certified Stoked Yogi SUP Instructor.
We wish you the best in the coming year and hope to see you!!
